Was your e-mail hacked?

There are a few signs that your email account may have been hacked:

  1. Unfamiliar messages have been sent from your account. If you see emails in your sent folder that you didn’t write, it’s possible that your account has been compromised.
  2. Your contacts have received spam or phishing emails from your account. If your friends, family, or colleagues report receiving suspicious emails from your account, it could be a sign that your email has been hacked.
  3. Your account settings have been changed. If you notice changes to your account settings or contact list that you didn’t make, it could be a sign that someone else has gained access to your account.
  4. You can’t log in to your account. If you are unable to log in to your email account, it could be because someone else has changed your password.

If you suspect that your email has been hacked, it’s important to take action immediately. Start by changing your password and securing your account with two-factor authentication. You should also run a virus scan on your computer to ensure that it is free of malware. Finally, consider contacting your email provider for further assistance.  If you don’t have an email provider, consider giving us a call and we can help you right away!
